In her immersive installation “Adrift in the Sargasso Sea,” Yaniv draws on Patrick Svensson’s The Book of Eels, a hybrid of natural history, memoir, and metaphysical inquiry that binds scientific unknowns to lived experience. Her Sargasso evokes a borderless state: a sea within a sea, held in place only by circulating ocean currents.

In this iteration, on view from September 11 to October 11, 2025, at Towson University in Baltimore, MD, Yaniv's site-responsive installation is animated through a long-term collaboration with the Department of Dance as part of their Interia program. Dance and sculpture interplay across the ample gallery space, atrium, and dance theatre, each space activating with unique artistic meaning that references life and loss, metamorphosis, complexity, and culture-nature (endangered) in multi-modal ways. Choreographer Jaye Knutson's vision, paired with Yaniv's sculptural textiles, expands the concept of performativity across motion, vision, and sound.
